'Vision AI' Technology of Samsung

Moohyung Lee, EVP and Head of the Customer eXperience Team of the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics, has expressed pride and excitement about the upgraded AI and connectivity features designed to elevate food and kitchen experiences.

The 2024 Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator is equipped with AI Vision Inside, employing a smart internal camera capable of recognizing items entering and exiting the refrigerator.

Utilizing "Vision AI" technology, it can identify up to 33 fresh food items based on a vast training dataset comprising approximately one million food photographs. The refrigerator allows users to manually add expiration date information for items, triggering alerts through its 32" LCD screen.

The appliance incorporates the Fridge Manager feature, monitoring the water filter status and facilitating easy, one-click purchases of new filters from Amazon through the Family Hub+ screen.

In addition, Samsung's Anyplace Induction Cooktop and Slide-in Range are equipped with 7" LCD screens to display selected and saved recipes from the Family Hub+ conveniently.

The Anyplace Induction Cooktop introduces notable advancements in cooking features, delivering efficient and borderless heating courtesy of Samsung's induction sheet coil technology.

Samsung Food

Samsung Food, accessible on the Family Hub+, Anyplace Induction Cooktop, and Slide-in Range, brings forth enhanced AI features. The "Personalize" feature, driven by improved Food AI, adapts to various dietary requirements, encompassing gluten-free, pescatarian, and dairy-free diets.

The recently introduced "Image-to-Recipe" feature, enhanced with Vision AI, identifies meals and multiple food items captured in photographs. The Tailored Meal Plan function scrutinizes user data from Samsung Health profiles, generating personalized meal plans tailored to individual health needs.

Acting as the cornerstone, the Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+ interconnects and reinforces AI features throughout kitchen products and the Samsung Food service.

Samsung Food integrates with Samsung Health to suggest healthy recipes based on users' health information. The service allows users to send cooking instructions to various kitchen appliances easily.

Tap View enhances convenience by mirroring Galaxy smartphone displays to the Family HubTM+ screen, while YouTube and TikTok applications are accessible for information and entertainment.

"We are both proud and excited to be showcasing these upgraded AI and connectivity features, which utilize the latest technology to help everyone take their food and kitchen experiences to the next level," said Lee.

"We are committed to letting users enjoy the many benefits of our innovative food ecosystem across a wide range of devices and features," he added.
