The renowned Google AI is now expanding to Android Auto, with the tech company currently working on this integration to bring Assistant's features to the in-car system. Through Google Assistant's generative AI, the Android Auto service will help summarize the messages that users receive while connected to the hands-free driving experience of the car, with a catch.

Assistant's goal is to summarize the entire conversation for a user, instead of having the voice read aloud the entire chatbox for the driver.

A new report from 9to5 Google revealed the company's latest AI integration to its products, with it focusing on the Android Auto service that is getting the Assistant.

Through the AI voice assistant, users may ask the technology to summarize messages in a conversation, and through this way, users no longer need to read it from their devices, the infotainment system, and have the tech read it individually.

It was reported that this feature first appeared in the current beta version of the Google app, v14.52, and while it is in limited rollout and under testing, it remains unknown when Google will bring it to Android Auto users.

Assistant AI to Summarize Messages with a Catch

Google's Assistant AI arriving on the Android Auto feature has a catch, as claimed by the report, and it was said by the company that users should not expect it to be 100 percent accurate with its summaries.

Provided that it is using generative AI for the summarization, Google said that this feature could make mistakes, and not deliver the entire context and content of the conversation.

Google's Generative AI Developments

The generative AI developments from Google were massive this year, and looking back, the company gave the world many to experience within its platform, first beginning with Bard. Its renowned Google Assistant was given to Bard at first to bring generative AI to voice-assistive tech, offering the famed capabilities and features that people may use in their everyday needs.

In the most recent drop by the company, it introduced the Gemini AI, and this is the new and improved version that is on the verge of powering Bard, the face of Google's artificial intelligence. The company said that this Gemini will rival the top LLMs of the world, including the renowned OpenAI GPT platform, ramping up its efforts against the popular ChatGPT.

The recent rollout of Gemini to Google's different apps and experiences is now taking shape, with its AI seeing better features and improvements compared to what Bard offered before. Now, it is heading to Android Auto, with Assistant AI that has Gemini offering its generative capabilities to summarize the messages in a certain conversation, but Google asks for a little patience with its inaccuracies.
