A new feature for the Android Automotive and Android Auto were unveiled, as part of Google's announcements during the CES 2024 event, with the company centering on the Chrome app heading to the platform. This latest integration adds more improvements to the in-car systems of the company, apart from the many improvements it added to the other aspects of its tech.

On the other hand, Android Auto has a more significant integration for electric vehicles, offering its intuitive features to help clean energy car owners navigate and be informed better.

Google Adds Chrome App to Android Automotive

The latest announcements from Google for CES 2024 gave the world a lot to look forward to this year, and with its 'starting the year right' ideology, the company also unveiled the arrival of new features for Android Automotive and Android Auto.

First off, the Google Chrome browser app is heading to Android Automotive's offers for all drivers, in need of quick searches while on the road. According to Google, the browser would allow drivers to browse the internet and search for various information online while in their cars.

This feature will first arrive as a beta to the select Polestar and Volvo cars, but Google claims that it will roll out to other vehicles coming later this year.

Android Auto, Other Google Announcements

Apart from Chrome for Android Automotive, Google also emphasized the improvements coming to Android Auto's integration and use of electric vehicles.

First off, compatible EVs to Android Auto will share information regarding its real-time battery information with Google Maps, launching first on Ford's Mustang Mach-E and F150 Lightning EVs. With this, Maps will help determine your battery percentage upon arriving at your destination, and also provide the best charging stops to avoid losing power.

Google's Updates and CES 2024

The new year for Google is massive, and it is reflected in the company's many announcements and updates made available to its devices and services, especially in its showcase at the latest CES event.

As part of its plans to improve more of the Assistant feature and push more people to use it, there were strings in Google Maps' code that its 'Driving Mode' would be available only through the virtual helper.

With Google showing its significant dive towards improving the smart home, this CES 2024 confirmed the internet company's tech features coming to Kohler's high-tech bidet system for toilets. Apart from Google Home's voice assistant feature, these Kohler bidets would also get the power of Amazon's Alexa, with the virtual assistants helping adjust the settings or use the other features available.

Google's dedication to improving more of its in-car driving systems was a highlight during its latest presentation in one of the top technology showcases in the world. In their recent CES 2024 announcement, Google detailed the latest Chrome app access coming to the Android Automotive platform, as well as its Android Auto offering a more helpful upgrade for EV owners in their use of the system.
