As Apple's highly anticipated Vision Pro is set to make its debut next week, a familiar player has already entered the scene - scalpers.

With pre-orders secured and the first customers eagerly waiting, eBay has become the battleground for exorbitant pricing strategies.

Everywhere, you will start seeing absurdly-priced listings that are nowhere to be found in other buy-and-sell platforms. This is how scalpers manipulate the market in the long run.

As expected, scalpers or resellers will flock on eBay to jack up the prices for the newly-launched Apple Vision Pro.

Even before Apple officially opened the floodgates for Vision Pro pre-orders, scalpers were swift to populate eBay with their speculative listings.

Now, with the added appeal of including pre-order confirmations, these listings are multiplying rapidly. While some seek a modest ~$1,000 premium on the $3,499 MSRP, others at the high end are daring to list Vision Pro at an eye-watering $10,000 per 9to5Mac.

Over 1,500 Listings and Counting

As of the latest count, eBay boasts a staggering 1,500+ Apple Vision Pro listings. The abundance of listings might appear perplexing, given that Apple's launch day stock is readily available at numerous stores.

However, the strategy becomes clearer when considering that the headset's initial launch is confined to the US. These scalpers are strategically targeting international buyers eager to get their hands on Apple's latest innovation.

A Cautionary Note for Buyers

While the prospect of owning Vision Pro ahead of official international launches may be enticing, buyers should tread carefully. Using the headset abroad before receiving official Apple support poses certain challenges and potential drawbacks that buyers need to consider.

How Much Are Vision Pros on eBay?

In the bustling world of scalping, where some are unapologetically capitalizing on demand, interestingly, some Vision Pro listings on eBay are currently fetching bids at or below the official $3,499 starting price.

The question remains whether eBay's sheer volume of supply might tip the scales in favor of buyers seeking a potential "deal."

As the countdown to the Vision Pro launch continues, the eBay marketplace transforms into a battlefield where scalpers aim for sizable profits, and buyers navigate the complexities of securing Apple's latest wearable technology.

As of Jan. 22, the Cupertino giant is estimated to have sold 180,000 units of Vision Pro during pre-order.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the information came from reliable tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said it would take five to seven weeks to ship the product.

If you're an outsider and you want to buy Vision Pro, you might need some help when you try to access its features or apps.

Of course, since it's exclusive in the US at the moment, you won't be able to switch to your native language except English.
