Inflections Announces $1.3 Billion in Funding Led by Microsoft

Inflection AI announced the influx of $1.3 billion in funding, with Microsoft, Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates, Eric Schmidt, and newcomer NVIDIA leading the investment charge. This brings the total investment in Inflection to $1.525 billion.

Collaborating with partners CoreWeave and NVIDIA, Inflection is embarking on an ambitious endeavor to construct the world's largest AI cluster, housing a staggering 22,000 NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs.

The latest funding infusion is earmarked to sustain the development of Inflection's inaugural product, unveiled in May. Pi represents a new breed of AI designed to serve as a compassionate and supportive companion, providing users with text and voice-based interactions, friendly guidance, and concise information.

Mustafa Suleyman, CEO and co-founder of Inflection AI, expressed optimism about the transformative potential of Personal AI, stressing the collaborative efforts with NVIDIA, Microsoft, and CoreWeave to materialize this vision.

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, lauded Inflection's contributions to the AI landscape, highlighting their deployment of NVIDIA AI technology to drive innovation in personal digital assistants.

"A powerful benefit of the AI revolution is the ability to use natural, conversational language to interact with supercomputers to simplify aspects of our everyday lives," Huang said in a statement.

"The world-class team at Inflection AI is helping to lead this groundbreaking work, deploying NVIDIA AI technology to develop, train and deploy massive generative AI models that enable amazing personal digital assistants."

Kevin Scott, Microsoft's CTO and EVP AI, emphasized the significance of supporting companies like Inflection in their pursuit of more personalized AI experiences.

Michael Intrator, CEO of CoreWeave, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing their excitement to partner with Inflection in integrating supercomputing capabilities into consumer products.

Prior to this round of funding, Inflection AI secured $225 million in an initial funding round from a consortium of investors.

Pi, the brainchild of Inflection, represents a paradigm shift in how individuals engage with AI, offering a platform for self-expression, curiosity exploration, and personalized assistance.
