Samsung Galaxy S23 users are facing frustration as the latest One UI 6.1 update appears to be causing touchscreen problems, despite promises of fixes.

Tech Issues Today reports (via PhoneArena) that initial issues with the update included slower charging speeds and broken fingerprint scanners. However, following the update, many users are reporting frozen screens or unresponsive taps, with some noting that only the S Pen is functional.

Samsung Users Share Their Frustrations Online

Reports of touchscreen dysfunction are flooding Samsung Community forums and social media platforms like Reddit. Despite attempts at troubleshooting such as restarting or resetting the device, the problem persists for most users. Some have reported temporary relief after app optimization, but this hasn't been consistent across all users.

The only solution for affected devices seems to be downgrading to the previous firmware, One UI 6.0. Users who have reverted to the older version have reported restored touchscreen functionality. However, this process comes with a caution to back up all data before proceeding.

Quotes from users highlight the frustration and lack of solutions available. One user expressed, "My touch screen stopped working I can't unlock phone or touch anything. Only works with S Pen."

Another user shared, "Since updating my screen is totally unresponsive to finger touch and only works when I use the S Pen. I've restarted my phone multiple times with no luck in fixing this problem."

Samsung has yet to acknowledge these touchscreen issues publicly. The exact cause of these bugs slipping past beta testing and quality assurance remains unclear. Users are encouraged to document their issues on the Galaxy S23 forum in order to quickly find a resolution.

Users Warn of Getting the Update Before Fixes

In response to the growing number of complaints, Samsung users are urged to hold off on installing the One UI 6.1 update until these issues are addressed. The company's lack of acknowledgment may heighten frustration among users experiencing these problems.

As of now, there are no specific statistics available regarding the extent of users affected by these touchscreen issues. However, the widespread nature of the reports suggests a significant number of users are encountering problems after installing the One UI 6.1 update.
