When Emma Watson takes to the big screen as Belle in Disney's live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, we now know one of the actors she'll be sharing the screen with.

There's still no word on who's going to be co-starring as Beast in the Bill Condon flick, but the movie's version of Gaston has been found.

Variety reports that Luke Evans, aka Bard the Bowman from The Hobbit, will appear as Gaston, the big-muscled Romeo who tries his best to win over Belle. Unfortunately for him, Belle's not interested in the handsome brute's superficial charms. When Belle ends up at the Beast's castle, Gaston takes it upon himself to incite a mob to storm the castle and kill him.

Beauty and the Beast is one of Disney's best-loved and highest-grossing animated musicals, so anticipation is high for this live-action adaptation. It's unknown if the Beast will be realized through prosthetics or through computer-generated visuals. Production starts later this year for what's likely to be a 2016 release date.

In addition to last year's Maleficent, Beauty and the Beast and this month's Cinderella, Disney has more live-action plans for animated classics including The Jungle Book and more.

What do you think? Is Evans a good choice for Gaston?
