Spider-Man has yet again transformed into a family man after the latest update from Marvel. The new changes will tie into Secret Wars, and it is deemed as the final Spider-Man story.

According to writer Dan Slott and artist Adam Kubert, the reasoning behind the idea of bringing Peter Parker's marriage back into the picture is because fans have wanted it to return for a long time.

"There are legions of Spider-Man fans that are passionate about changes that have happened to Spider-Man continuity," says current Amazing Spider-Man writer, Dan Slott. "They are upset that the baby went missing, that the marriage went away. Spider-Man has been around for fifty years, and the marriage was around for twenty-five. So now we're seven or eight years into a world without a married Spider-Man. It's a big itch that people want scratched."

Being married to Mary Jane and having a daughter should prove for some compelling storytelling. We expect his daughter and Mary Jane to be used by villains who know Spider-Man's identity to get to him. Furthermore, having a family should allow Peter Parker to be more careful while fighting crime because now he has something of significance to return home to.

Still, having a family could be a problem because the character could become too comfortable, maybe having fewer things to worry about because now Parker could have a stable job and more money to go around. One of the things that made Peter Parker an interesting character is the problems he has at work and his inability to live a life that screams success!

At the end of the day, though, it will all come down to the story. A good writer can make any setting interesting to the reader, so Spider-Man having the life he always wanted, along with being a superhero, can be turned into something quite unique, and no one should rule out that possibility.

We should also bear in mind that this new Spider-Man storyline takes place within the Secret Wars arc, so there will be a lot of room for writers to make Spider-Man with his marriage with kids life, fit just right.
