For a man of speed, not having enough time seems ironic. As life goes, there are things that we cannot catch up to no matter how fast we can go.

Apparently, if you have the ability to speed through time, sooner or later you will end up back in time. This week's episode of The Flash left us all on the edge of our seats feeling like we've run out of time with all the shocking revelations.

Up to now, this debut season of The Flash has had its high moments, but it seems like it has been losing its momentum. After a brief hiatus, Tuesday's episode sent viewers in a dizzying tailspin from an unexpected twist in the show.

Not so fast there! Beware of SPOILERS below in case you aren't up to speed on the latest happenings with our budding superhero Barry.

As our hero and his team of brilliant minds try to figure out how to save the day from the Weather Wizard's determination to take revenge for the death of his brother and cause major damage and destruction in his path, Barry also tries to maneuver his feelings for Iris West.

Iris, on the other hand, cannot keep her feelings to herself any longer and finally confesses to Barry all she feels and, in an intimate moment, they share a passionate kiss.

It seems like another mushy episode but wait, the momentum picks up when Barry reveals his true identity to Iris and rushes off to save Joe from the evil intent of the Weather Wizard to unleash a destructive tsunami on Central City.

More shocking than this is Cisco figuring out Dr. Wells' secret and true identity that he is in fact Eobard Thawne a.k.a "The Reverse Flash." Although Dr. Wells is fond of Cisco, it doesn't stop him from killing Cisco to protect his secret from Barry and the rest of the team. In one aspect, you somehow abhor Wells for his actions yet at the same time you can't help but be impressed with his "speed mirage."

Before you all get teary-eyed and mourn the early loss of such a lovable character, in a twist only this show can give us, it turns out Cisco is still alive. Confused?

Let me explain: in an effort to defeat the Weather Wizard, Barry runs as fast as he can in the opposite direction to create a wall to block the tidal wave heading for Central City. Barry ends up running too fast - accidentally time-traveling and resetting the events that took place earlier in the episode.

This means that everything that happened didn't. Cisco is still alive but unaware of the dangers of Dr. Wells' true identity and the fact that he was murdered in cold blood. This also means that Iris and Barry never shared a kiss and Iris in effect does not know the true identity of The Flash.

Although Barry saves the day, the resetting of events will surely have implications in future episodes, and it would be interesting to find out what exactly the repercussions of this accidental time reversal will bring.

Catch The Flash as it airs every Tuesday on The CW at 8 p.m.
