The Walking Dead may be a gripping human drama about life after a zombie breakout, but the one thing on everyone's mind is: Who's gonna die?

Sure the characters, plots and drama are all top-notch, but nothing gets fans worked up more than theories on who's going to be the next member of Rick's clan to get zombified.

Over the last five years, we've seen both supporting and main characters meet grisly ends, but something is different about this season.

The deaths seem even more shocking than ever before, and they hit home in a way that we haven't seen from the series yet.

A few months ago, we took a look at which Walking Dead characters we thought would bite the big one. The series is known for death, whether it's a surprise or a long, drawn-out, emotionally crippling goodbye.

Now, with the season finale just days away, it's time to look again — just who is going to make it out of The Walking Dead's fifth season alive?

Warning: Spoilers for the fifth season of The Walking Dead follow.

Rick Grimes

Chance of Death: 0 Percent

As previously stated, there's no way that The Walking Dead is going to ax its main character anytime soon. That being said, Rick's story could be headed in a very different direction soon: while he's been the leader of the group for years now, the threat of exile could see Rick separated from the same survivors he helped save.

Daryl Dixon

Chance of Death: 0 Percent

Daryl is easily the show's most popular character, and AMC isn't going to risk losing such a marketable personality. Even more so than Rick, Daryl is one of the show's biggest draws, and it's safe to say that Daryl will be around for season six and beyond.

Carol Peletier

Chance of Death: 50 Percent

Carol started off as one of the show's weakest characters, but since then, she's grown into one of the strongest survivors in the group. She's stronger, mentally stable and formed an emotional bond with Daryl — which is precisely the reason she's vulnerable. It's not a given, but Carol's definitely in danger.

Glenn Rhee

Chance of Death: 60 Percent

Previously, we said that Glenn was living on borrowed time. That may have been a bit hasty, but that doesn't change the fact that Glenn hasn't been putting himself in the best situations. Going head-to-head against Nicholas seems like an inevitability, and there's no guarantee that Glenn will come out on the other side intact.

Maggie Greene

Chance of Death: 30 Percent

At this point, Maggie's basically a background character. For the last several episodes, she's been more of a supporting character than one of the main players, and the chances of her dying are probably pretty low. That being said, she's not completely safe, as her death would still carry a huge emotional impact — which is exactly the sort of thing that season finales are made of.

Michonne

Chance of Death: 10 Percent

Lately, Michonne has been the polar opposite of Rick: she's been the calm, cool, collected one while Rick is out getting into fights and nearly getting the entire group exiled. She's as steadfast and strong as ever, and is another hugely popular character: her death would have to come completely out of left field, but there is still a slim chance that it could happen.

Tyreese

Died: "What Happened And What's Going On"

We originally had Tyreese pegged at only a 35 percent chance of dying, so we were a bit surprised when he didn't make it through the mid-season finale alive. It was a gruesome finish, especially with all the impromptu amputation ... we'll miss you, Tyreese.

Sasha

Chance of Death: 50 Percent

Sasha was understandably devastated when Tyreese died during the mid-season finale, and her subsequent reaction made us question just how well she would do against the walkers during their next encounter. Since then, she hasn't slowed down much, but don't think she's safe — after all, misery loves company, and what better way to make one death even more tragic than with another death in the same family?

Granted, there were plenty of other deaths this season: Noah suffered a grim fate, and Aiden didn't fare much better, either. Even Buttons the horse wasn't safe from the inevitability of death ... and if a lovable horse can't survive, how can the rest of them hope to live?

If The Walking Dead's fifth season ends on the same note as its mid-season finale, then fans are in for one of the most emotionally-compromising episodes of television ever. Beth's death was a huge moment for the show, and stands out on its own, even amongst the other high-profile casualties. Will The Walking Dead end on something similar, or will the season end on a decent note for once?

Considering it's The Walking Dead ... probably the former.

The Walking Dead's season five finale, "Conquer," airs Sunday, March 29 on AMC.
