Every year on May 4th, Star Wars fans join together in harmony to celebrate their favorite entertainment franchise. It's called Star Wars Day, and this year's celebration is shaping up to be even bigger than usual.

With a new Star Wars television show on the air, a new movie coming in December, Star Wars comics from Marvel, new books and new video games all on the way, there is a ton of Star Wars goodness to celebrate.

For the next week PlayStation is giving Star Wars fans even more reasons to celebrate. Four classic Star Wars video games are making their debut on the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3: Star Wars: Starfighter, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, the game adaptation of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and the excellent Star Wars: Racer Revenge.

Better yet, each game will be 25 percent off until May 5th. Sony is also doing a Star Wars-themed giveaway contest. By retweeting Star Wars Battlefront tweets made by they @HeyPlayStation Twitter account, you'll be granted entries in a contest to win an ultimate Star Wars fan package that includes a PlayStation 4, a custom Star Wars themed box for your PS4, all four of the classic games mentioned above, all six Star Wars films and a digital deluxe copy of the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront.

Whew. And even if you don't want to buy one of the newly released Star Wars games on PSN or enter the contest, you can still celebrate Star Wars Day by downloading a free Millennium Falcon dashboard theme for your PS3 and PS4. The theme will only be free this week, so be sure to grab it.
