Our favorite tipster @evleaks has spilled the beans once again, posting what looks to be the latest photo of the up and coming HTC One Mini 2.

The serial phone leaker shared what many believe to be a press image of the successor to the HTC One Mini. Based on the photo, the HTC One Mini 2 will come in three colors-gunmetal, silver and gold. This, along with the sleek metal body and onscreen buttons, give the second Mini more than a passing resemblance to the larger HTC One M8.

Much of the similarity will most likely end there, though. The photo reveals that the handset only has a single rear camera, which confirms earlier reports that the One Mini 2 will not feature a Duo Camera found in the M8 and the One Mini 2's predecessor, the One Mini. HTC has been using Duo Camera for its smartphones since 2013, bringing an impressive set of camera settings for a lot of its handsets.

"Add professional results with UFocus. Bring blurry objects into focus before or after you shoot," HTC describes its Duo Camera featured on the M8. "More pixels don't mean better photos - larger pixels do. The HTC One M8 features UltraPixels twice the average size to capture over 300% more light."

Instead of sporting the 4-UltraPixel camera found in its two bigger brothers, the Mini One 2 will have a lower-end 13-megapixel camera, which is still impressive for a mini version. This brings it up to par with the lately released Desire 816, currently HTC's flagship smartphone in the mid-level range.

The leaked press render also shows that the One Mini 2 will have front-facing stereo speakers, which experts believe will be powered by HTC BoomSound technology with built-in amplifiers.

However, the new photo does not line up with an earlier leak of an alleged press render published on Phone Arena, so anything claiming to be official photos must still be taken with a grain of salt. Given @evleaks' reputation for accurate scoops, though, it's not surprising to find technology lovers gobbling up the new information.

In February, @evleaks also posted the supposed specs of the One Mini 2, which include Android 4.4 Kitkat, a quad-core 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB RAM, and 16 GB of disk space. The handset is also rumored to have a 4.5-inch display at 720p resolution, which is not too bad for a smartphone of its range.

"HTC One Mini M8 mini going to Verizon," writes @evleaks, so it will not be surprising if the carrier and other major operators in the US will carry the One Mini 2 in their lineup as well.

Fans are still waiting for a release date to be mentioned, but analysts believe HTC will unveil its One Mini 2 in the coming weeks.
