Newly leaked photos have allegedly shown the HTC One Mini 2 in several different colors. This is not exactly surprising, but we cannot say for sure if it is real or not. From our standpoint, it does look like a solid leak, but we would need more information to make sure.

The cat was released from the bag by serial leaker, @evleaks on Twitter, and from what we can tell, the HTC One Mini 2 could launch in three distinctive colors. Interested persons should expect to see the device in silver, gold and gray.

Where specifications are concerned, it appears HTC is going with a 13-megapixel camera for the One Mini 2, instead of the 4-megapixel camera that is usually found in this line of devices. This could be because the idea of going with just 4-megapixels has since failed to work out as expected. It could also mean future HTC smartphone might no longer come equipped with the ultrapixel technology.

Furthermore, we expect this device to come packed with a 4.5-inch display, 16GB of internal memory, Snapdragon 400 processor, Sense 6 and Android 4.4 KitKat.

It would be quite interesting if the HTC One Mini 2 takes better images when compared to the HTC One (M8). Chances are; this could be the case since the 4-megapixel camera inside the M8 has never been designed for folks wanting to take great images.

If the HTC One Mini turns out to be on the same line as the rumored specifications, then HTC could have a mid-ranged winner on its hands. It has no chance in rivaling the M8 in raw power and screen resolution, but at least it could win out in the camera department. Yes, a high amount of megapixels does not make a great camera, but despite that, we find it very difficult to believe that a 4-megapixel shooter is capable of outgunning a 13-megapixel shooter.

We have no idea when HTC plans to launch this device or if it is even real. However, if @evleaks information is solid, it should not take too long before the company chooses to officially launch the HTC One Mini 2.
