A 2.2 GB patch for the Steam version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has poured through the pipeline and is waiting at the valve. It's filled with updates to the game's art pack and it's completely safe to download, cancel or delete.

CD Projekt RED's Łukasz Babiel confirmed the contents of the 2.2 GB patch in a post on Steam, and nope, it isn't patch 1.07.

"That's an update of our art pack (art book, soundtrack, map, manual, wallpapers etc.)," said Babiel.

The patch isn't the one many players have been awaiting. It essentially only adds more language options to the art and Projekt RED tossed in a few more wallpapers to sweeten the bland update.

For those unfamiliar with Steam's deep cover location in file systems, Babiel laid out the shortest and most direct path to The Witcher 3's game folder and the updated art files it contains:

"You can check them out by [right-clicking on the game's entry in Steam and] going to: Properties (from Library view)->Local files->Browse local files. Files are in main game folder."

If, by chance, someone wanted to retrieve the deleted content, Steam's file verification feature can fill in files missing from the most recent version of the game. The "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" option is located under the Properties menu's "Local Files" tab, which is also where the "Browse Local Files" option is.

While the latest patch may have been lackluster for many players, the patch 1.07 is due for deployment any day now. Here's a recap of what the upcoming patch will deliver:

–An addition, and optional, movement response mode for Geralt.
–Stash locations, marked on the map, where the player can store goods.
–Alchemy and crafting gear no longer impact inventory weight.
–Books receive their own tabs in the inventory and ones that have been read will be grayed out.
–The inventory will have multiple sorting options.
–Players can pin formulas and diagrams, which mark the necessary crafting and alchemy components in the store.
–Major and minor quest fixes.
–A handful of performance enhancements to effects, scenes, gameplay and more.
–Several improvement to horse behavior.
