A new report indicates that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5 may contain the same impressive selfie camera currently featured on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Buried Galaxy S6 HTML code reveals the same camera will be included on the soon-to-be-released Note 5 phablet.

Samsung is gearing up for the release of its latest and greatest phablet, the Galaxy Note 5, due to arrive shortly. We recently reported that the rumored specs of the device had leaked, along with those of the super-sized Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, ahead of the device's release date. Among the impressive features, the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to pack is a 5 megapixel front-facing selfie camera.

Now, additional information is pointing to that camera being the same high quality front-facing shooter featured on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Buried HTML code on the Galaxy S6 selfie cam support webpage indicates that that camera is compatible with only two other phone models, listed as the N925 and N920F. The cited models are actually the code names for the Galaxy Note 5, which indicates that the same premium 5 megapixel selfie cam will be included on the new device.

Manufacturers have been upping their game in terms of quality front shooters as the feature is becoming more and more of an important selling point as the selfie craze continues. Last year's Samsung Galaxy S5 selfie cam features a mere 2 megapixel front shooter, and while Samsung upped its game considerably with the Note 4's 3.7 megapixel front-facing cam, the S6 camera is a revelation, having come out on top in several comparison tests with the 5 megapixel shooters on rival manufacturers' flagship devices.

Interestingly, the HTML code does not include the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus as a compatible device for the same selfie camera. Whether this is just an omission or if the new S6 family member will contain a different front shooter is still unclear. However, the leaked specs for the S6 Plus did indicate it would feature a 5 megapixel front-facing shooter.
