What would happen if the Seven Kingdoms was located in Silicon Valley instead of Westeros? Instead of the Iron Thone, the players vie for who will raise victorious after the great crash. This is Game of Thrones re-imagined in Silicon Valley as presented by Vanity Fair.

The video is a parody of the opening title sequence of Game of Thrones. The narrator talks about how Silicon Valley has turned into a vast Internet wasteland and the broadband bandits arose from the chaos.

AOL, Yahoo, MSN, even Excite, India Times, and Netubee were named as some of those that arose from the darkness. But they will not hold their reign of power for long because across the Western Bay, two gods emerged, "fierce of spirit and nerdy of demeanor" – Google and Apple.

As well as a young warlord hell-bent on collecting his enemies' faces in a book. Touché.

Unholy alliances were also described as taking a strong foothold in the Game of Silicon Valley. Twitter, Pinterest, WhatsApp and Snapchat. They are just some of the upstarts that dared to challenge the mighty warriors.

Just like the real ending to Game of Thrones, no one knows who will reign supreme. "For the battle of the Internet and social media, who will rule them all? The answer is in the cloud" – we see what you did there.

Check out the well-made video by Vanity Fair on YouTube. As some keen-eyed Night's Watchmen have already pointed out, Microsoft is noticeably absent from the video. Perhaps it is lurking beyond the Wall, waiting for the right time to enter and dominate the world of Silicon Valley once more?
