When "Mad Max: Fury Road" came along, it revived a franchise that hasn't seen the big screen in almost 30 years. Now the movie itself is getting a face lift, rendered in 8-bit by the guys over at CineFix.

"Fury Road" has always been meant to be an 8-bit video game but the direction George Miller provided, alongside great performances from the cast and the incredible accompanying stunt work, made it a critically acclaimed action movie. As this is a rarity, it means that "Fury Road" was not in any way wasted, even if it was not in the original form it was intended to be.

Still, just because is everyone is singing the movie praises doesn't mean that the allure of an 8-bit "Fury Road" has been forgotten.

In CineFix's take, "Fury Road" is essentially recapped by highlighting high points in the movie, like Max being captured, Furiosa running away with the Five Wives and the subsequent chase that ensues after Immortan Joe finds out that the wives are gone, all tucked in a charming 3-minute video.

The 8-bit video appears much like one long action sequence and ends with Furiosa upstaging Max in the final boss battle. It's not entirely faithful to happenings in the movie but the video game version did incorporate touches anyone who saw and liked "Fury Road" will appreciate.

(But because the video essentially recaps the movie, it is filled with spoilers, so those who have not seen 'Fury Road' are advised to watch the 8-bit tribute at their own risk.)

According to Miller, he's interested in making two more Mad Max movies at the least, but these projects my no longer include Furiosa. If she does make an appearance, it would be a cameo at the most, which is a bummer, because as much as Max is loved, Furiosa was a driving force in "Fury Road."

In the past, CineFix has also created 8-bit versions of popular TV shows, like "The Walking Dead", and movies, like "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Mad Max: Fury Road hit theaters in May 2015 while a DVD release was scheduled for September.
