Vizio is recalling 245,000 E-Series HD televisions due to concerns that the television could tip over and cause injury.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, two models, the 39- and 42-inch displays that began selling late last year, are facing the recall after a stand failed to keep the television in place. Although Vizio said it has not seen a report of an injury, the move is a precaution to ensure safety for TV owners.

"The stand assembly can fail and cause the television to tip over unexpectedly, posing a risk of impact injury to the consumer," said a statement from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The statement details the televisions that are part of the recall and gives a phone number for customers to call in order to determine if their television is part of the recall. The sets were sold from December 2013 through June at big-box retailers and online.

"This recall involves Vizio E-series 39- and 42-inch Full-Array LED flat panel televisions. The flat panel televisions are black with "VIZIO" printed in the lower right corner of the television front and the VIZIO logo in the center of the back. The following model and serial numbers are included in the recall," the commission added.

Vizio is advising customers to detach the stand, put the TV somewhere safe, and request a replacement from the company.

"VIZIO announces safety notice for the stand assembly of E390-B0, E390i-B0, and E420i-B0. Please visit https://www.vizio.com/safety-notice  for more info," the company said on its Twitter account.

Vizio is in direct competition with the likes of Samsung -- which Tech Times reported is launching an uber-expensive 105-inch model for over $120,000 -- and Sony.
