Sony is rumored to release a smartphone that's best to use for taking selfies. Why, there's a new stylish phone that looks a lot like a perfume bottle that's being shown around in China.

No official announcement has been made yet but leaked images of what is believed to be a new Sony Cyber-shot camera phone has been shared on social media. The phone looks like a bottle of perfume because of the glass flappable lens on top.

The compact camera phone is known this early as the KW1. Digicame Info described the upcoming smartphone to feature a 23mm-equivalent f/2 wide-angle prime lens and a small 1/2.3-inch 19-megapixel sensor. Other possible features include a built-in ND filter, Sony G lens, -1/8000 shutter speed, optical image stabilizer, microSD card slot, a 3-inch monitor, NFC, Wi-Fi, and app support.

From the looks of it, the yet-to-be-unveiled smartphone seems to be aimed at the ladies---or more like the selfie addicts. The phone appears stylish and pretty and comes with big lens in a clear case that can be flipped around to take normal photos and selfies.

In China, Sony has already tapped some popular models and media influencers to show off the Cyber-shot phone but specs have not been given yet. A number of photos of Chinese models have popped up of them holding the new phone, taking selfies wherever: at a theme park, inside the elevator, and on the road among others.

Note that the ladies holding the smartphone does not look like they are actually holding a smartphone but rather something that looks like a perfume or a compact mirror. It doesn't really look like a phone so this make taking selfies possibly more discreet. (The probability of annoying those around you can be lowered.)

Sony has posted a teaser of the Cyber-shot phone, at least, the perfume bottle cover-like case. Interestingly, the case is gold in color. Sony could also be experimenting in camera design that's why this Cyber-shot looks different from the usual smartphone.

The new Sony smartphone is expected to be introduced this coming August 22, Friday. Photos show that there will be blue, pink, and purple models.
