Google is taking the preparation for the upcoming Material Design rather seriously by coming up with several updates on its Android apps. The one that's getting the next revamp focus is Gmail which is its most popular app and also a major draw among Android users.

Google applies the same concept of Material Design in the revamped Gmail. It's more user-friendly, more contemporary and offers more functions and usability. Since Google has already done a makeover on Google+, the Play Store and some other apps, the company is now looking into upgrading Gmail with more added features designed to deliver a whole new email experience.

The new Gmail, dubbed as Gmail 5.0, supports Yahoo and Outlook.com accounts. It also has support to the Exchange ActiveSync. This change will make it easy for users to make switching between accounts.

The experience brought by being able to manage a different inbox that comes from a different mail provider is absolutely incomparable from simply sending emails to addresses other than Gmail and forwarding emails as well. After all, there are a number of people that actually maintain more than one email account, probably attributed to the fact that Gmail has made it very easy for everyone to fill in the email registration page.

The 'compose mail screen' has also become bigger and more functional. Users can easily add images either by copying and pasting them on the white space for the email body or by attaching them to the mail. They can even opt to drag the photos to the page. This method eliminates the need to download an attachment, thereby making it safer for everyone to read their mail.

Google has also added more emoji options in the email to add a more personalized and modern look to the messages. Likewise, messages are grouped like conversations which absolutely create an uncluttered look in the email.

Another impressive feature of the revamped Gmail is the integration of Google search in the app. It makes searching through all emails faster and easier.

Users can also read their mails offline as the email is instantly pushed to the phone. There's no need to worry about missing an important mail again. Moreover, checking one's inbox is possible by simply using the Gmail widget. Even the device's home screen can allow the user to compose new messages on it.

The new Gmail app is expected to arrive in the coming weeks. Some have speculated that it is launching around Nov. 3, the day when the Nexus 9 will begin to ship.
