A Fortnite player finally discovered how to get back to the so-called "spawn island," the starting point for the game's Battle Royale matches.

Since Fortnite: Battle Royale was launched, players have tried to get back to spawn island after matches start, but to no avail. Who would have thought that the addition of shopping carts to the multiplayer shooter will finally make it happen?

The Quest To Get Back To 'Fortnite' Starting Island

Every match of the Battle Royale mode of Fortnite starts with 100 players gathering in "spawn island." The island is a neutral territory where players can do whatever they want while waiting for the match to start.

Once the match begins, players are transported to the main island, where they fight it out with their enemies to try to become the last man standing. Spawn island, however, remains visible, apparently taunting players to try to get back to it.

Fortnite players have tried various methods in their attempts to get back to the island after the match starts. Players have built structures towards the island, and have even tried riding rockets to it, but they always get stopped by an invisible barrier.

One of the things that has kept Fortnite on top of the Battle Royale genre is the constant updates, which sometimes include new items. Fortnite shopping carts have been one of the most fun additions to the game, and apparently, they come with a glitch that lets players get back to spawn island.

How To Get Back To 'Fortnite' Spawn Island

A video uploaded by YouTuber OrangeGuy shows his discovery on how to use shopping carts to get back to Fortnite's starting point.

With the help of two friends, OrangeGuy achieved the feat by first building a massive bridge that stretched across almost the entire gap between the main island and spawn island. The bridge ended in a ramp, and the video showed the YouTuber and his friends getting on a shopping cart riding down.

It appeared that the shopping cart was able to punch through the invisible wall that has prevented previous attempts in getting back to spawn island. After launching from the ramp, the shopping cart stayed in the air, then slowly floated towards the island.

Returning to spawn island is a neat trick, and other Fortnite players have already succeeded in replicating OrangeGuy's achievement. Players who would also like to try getting back to spawn island should do so as soon as they can, as Epic Games might fix the glitch in the next Fortnite update.
