According to Tech Crunch, Epic Games recently bought Cubic Motion, a computer vision startup that specializes in facial animation technology and virtual reality, to be their main creator of polishing human-like characters and more realistic settings on each of Epic Games' video games.

"Digital humans are not only the next frontier of content creation but also the most complex endeavor in computer graphics. With Cubic Motion bringing their computer vision and animation technology and expertise to our digital human efforts, Epic, along with our team at 3Lateral, are one step closer to democratizing these capabilities for creators everywhere," said Tim Sweeney, founder, and CEO of Epic Games, in a statement.

As reported, human movements are the hardest animation that artists do, and Epic Games acquisition with Cubic Motion makes this more possible and easier. The Fortnite developer has not revealed how much money did they spend on buying Cubic Motion, but it was said to be worth the price since almost all of their video games depend on animation and human characters.

"We are delighted to be joining Epic Games and look forward with excitement to this next chapter in our story," said Cubic Motion CEO Dr. Gareth Edwards. "Together, we are uniquely positioned to push the boundaries of digital human technology, bringing ever more realism and immersion to all forms of visual entertainment."

If you are not familiar with the works of Cubic Motion, the computer animation company recently created notable partnerships with Sony Interactive Entertainment's "God of War" and Insomniac Games' "Marvel's Spider-Man."

Epic Games seemed to be more focused on giving many details to their video games since, last year, the company also acquired 3Lateral that is one of the famous digital animation company in the world.

Currently, Epic Games now has two digital animation companies. Due to this, players can expect that Epic Games would likely have more human-like characters soon-- especially in their famous Fortnite video game.

If you don't believe that Epic Games can create more realistic characters on their game, here is a sample video from CGI character 'Siren' that looks extremely human and real from the video.

As of now, Epic Games has not yet announced the future projects that 3Lateral and Cubic Motion are about to take, but it is expected to be as realistic as what you wanted to be.
