According to The Verge's latest report, Facebook's moderation works by flagging the posts that are thought to violate its company's rules. These include everything from hate speech to spam and content that promotes violent acts.

These posts are reported by either the users themselves or machine learning filters. However, some very offensive content are dealt with automatically.

This means that you either remove the post or block the account. Other posts are directed into a queue for review by human moderators.

Facebook hires thousands of moderators each year

The social media company hires around 15,000 moderators from across the world. However, Facebook is being criticized for not providing enough support and pushing them into scenarios that can lead to trauma.

These people's jobs are to filter the content and identify which one violates the company's various policies. Previously, these moderators deal with the posts according to the order they were reported.

Right now, Facebook wants to make moderation even more efficient with the help of machine learning. The company wants to make sure that the most important posts are seen first.

In the future, Facebook's new machine learning algorithms will sort the queue according to the posts' severity, likelihood to break the rules and virality.

Why is AI important to children?

Many companies are using AI to improve their technologies. Because of its promising benefits, it is also important for children to know more about the technology.

Forbes explained that, artificial intelligence evolution provides bountiful material for engaging students with the subject. It can also lead to breakthrough innovation that could make the world a better place. This technology can also lead to an AI judge deciding on a criminal case, an AI nurse choosing a medicine, or an AI car without the need of driver.

It is important for the younger generations to learn more about its complexity for them to be more confident to control the artificial intelligence.
