The decision is expected to require tech giants such as Facebook, Google, and other social media platforms to pay Australian news organizations for their content.

On the other hand, Microsoft said that it will ensure that those small businesses who would transfer their advertising to Bing will have easier processes and no transfer costs. The software giant said that it recognizes the important role that search advertising plays to more than two million small businesses in the country.

The software giant also reiterated that Microsoft will invest in Bing even more so that it can compete with other search engine giants such as Yahoo Search, Google Search, and more. The Australian citizens are also advised to now use Bing more so that the search engine would improve continuously.

Why Microsoft's search engine is a great choice

Microsoft said that it fully supports the News Media Bargaining Code. This is currently important for small media outlets in the country. It also said that it is willing to adjust to the country's rules even if Microsoft is not subject to the legislation. During the meeting, Microsoft added that it believes the legislation proposal presents a fundamental step towards a more fair playing field for small businesses and large search engine companies.

However, these promises can only be ensured once the Australian government agrees to the company's suggestion.
