Just last week, the Microsoft Windows 10 update KB5000842 and the Microsoft Windows update KB5001330 both made quite a bit more fuss than they would usually make. This is because they were reportedly found to be located at the heart of numerous gaming-related performance issues that spread throughout a number of games and GPUs.

Microsoft Update Fixed Gaming Issue

The updates originally rolled out some time during late March and it reportedly took just a few weeks for the folks to track down the main culprit. According to the story by Kotaku, last week, they had reportedly led to certain problems on the AMD, Intel, and even Nvidia-based systems which range from stuttering within games, the instability with the V-sync enabled, the reduced FPS, and also the intermittent lag found elsewhere in Windows.

It was reported by ghacks that although most of the issues that were complained were gaming-related issues, they are being specifically targeted over the next day and that Microsoft is able to do this without releasing another all-new update thanks to its reported KIR or Known Issue Rollback system which would allow the Windows 10 to quickly revert a particular single and targeted fix to another previously released behavior if another critical regression is discovered.

Why does Microsoft Release Updates?

Although the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system has been around for quite some time now, every once in a while, a new security and performance update is being launched. Sometimes, these reported updates would include bugs but then they are reportedly fixed by additional updates later on.

While some people might wonder why updates are needed in the first place, the constant evolution of technology would require new updates every once in a while. Since hackers are getting craftier and craftier, one major reason why Microsoft updates its Windows 10 is in order to introduce new security measures to protect the computer from attackers.

Gaming on Windows 10

Aside from the cybersecurity issue that is rampant, there is also a need for performance updates in order to improve the overall user experience. There could be certain updates that introduce some buggy features or experiences but usually, a followup update will be released to fix the issues after a while.

While the previous issues were gaming and performance related, Microsoft was able to fix this issue. As of today, gamers comprise a massive chunk of computer users which is why it is very important that game performance be kept at an optimum. The gaming industry of today is gigantic and most of those gamers are Windows users.

Although there might be rare instances wherein gamers would use other operating systems, most of the time, the default operating system for gamers is Windows 10 just because of how user friendly it is. Gaming on Windows 10 is quite natural for gamers and it is quite rare for gamers to pick another operating system for gaming.
