Google Chrome Users and Privacy Protection

It is worth noting that privacy now plays a major concern not just for browser users, but for the firms behind these apps as well, as per the report by CNET.

However, despite the ongoing efforts of browser makers to further improve the privacy features of their apps. The maximum protection is still disabled by default.

Not to mention that improving the overall privacy even requires some additional third-party options, to begin with.

On top of that, some Google Chrome users have been prioritizing their privacy protection after scandals such as Facebook's Cambridge Analytica. It has then forced folks to be careful with the vast amount of information that they willingly provide to tech giants.

Back in the day, web browsers were only specifically flaunting their speed performance in loading the sites that their users frequently visit. And Google Chrome has been boasting an impressive performance in that aspect through the years, which has been attributed to its popularity.

However, as the online landscape has massively evolved over time, Google's web browser is also following the demands of its users.

As such, Chrome devs even hinted that they are willing to sacrifice the blazing fast performance of the app in favor of making it more secure.

Not just that, Chrome is now home to privacy-focused options as well.

Google Chrome Settings for Better Privacy

Although Google Chrome, the most popular browser in terms of the user base, has some privacy settings in place, it is not available by default.

That said, this guide should help you tweak your Chrome to make it a privacy powerhouse.

One of the built-in settings from the browser to consider tweaking is the option that allows users to stop third-party sites from collecting cookies from you.

To do so, go to the three-dot menu on the upper right of Chrome. After which, click on the Settings option. Then, scroll down to select Privacy and security. Next, click Cookies and other side data. And lastly, click on the "Block third-party cookies" option.

What's more, thankfully, the browser of Google is natively open-source, which makes it easier to tweak, at least for its desktop counterpart.

As such, there are tons of extensions that users could stuff into the Google web browser to help expand the privacy features of Chrome.

Some of the extensions to start with are uBlock Origin, an adblocker; and Cookie Autodelete, which helps manage your cookies, as the name suggests.
