The NFL Sunday Ticket already moved to Google's YouTube TV and Primetime Channels last week, and it will be available for all by the next season's games for the public to enjoy. The question people are asking now is regarding its prices, especially as they compare its per-season costs compared to its old streaming partner, DirecTV.

Starting this 2023 season, YouTube TV will now be the go-to destination for all American football streaming needs, but is it a reasonable price for people to purchase?

NFL officially announced Google and YouTube to be the new home of the Sunday Ticket, a franchise that has been long sought-after by different companies after a long wait.

However, after this confirmation of the new streaming partner, the question now lies regarding how much the Sunday night football experience would be on YouTube TV.

According to a report by NBC Sports, the estimated price of the Sunday Ticket's per season price would be around $300.

Users will receive almost five months of the football streaming experience with YouTube TV, but the price may still vary when the season starts and official rates arrive.

Is It Cheaper than DirecTV?

DirecTV's price for the Sunday Ticket was $79 per month and rounds up to around $400 for the entire season. However, this does not yet include the setting up cost of satellite TV and additional charges.

It is safe to say that YouTube TV would not have any additional costs for its setup as it is an app-based streaming platform that requires the internet for its services. Moreover, based on predictions, it is already cheaper by $100 compared to its previous home.

It is almost 30 years since Sunday Ticket first offered its streaming services, since its arrival on DirecTV in 1994.

The Prized NFL Sunday Ticket

After Apple pulled out from the competition to secure the NFL Sunday Ticket for its streaming platform, the Apple TV+, things escalated quickly in the many interested companies for the game.

There were different Big Tech companies interested in securing the Sunday Ticket franchise, being the first time it moved since its contract with DirecTV.

One of the companies that shined throughout this competition is Google, for its YouTube streaming platform to be the home of Sunday night football.

Not long after the talks surrounding Google's interest, the contract was made out to the company for the NFL to head to YouTube TV and the Primetime Channels feature of the company.

Now, YouTube TV is officially the streaming partner of the NFL Sunday Ticket starting the 2023 season, and it offers a more affordable experience compared to its previous home. With a difference of as much as $100, YouTube TV is ideal for all NFL fans to flock to in the future, for all the games coming in the next fumble.
