Google Pixel Fold Rumors: Device Launch Coming this June, What to Expect from the New Foldable?

Google is gearing up, allegedly, for an upcoming rumored device from the company that will jumpstart its foldable device development, with the first Pixel Fold coming soon. According to rumors and speculations, Google is already on its way to debuting the product by June this year, despite the many unknown factors and having no mentions of the smartphone.

The rumors behind the Pixel Fold spread like wildfire earlier this year, as Google is tapping into a new smartphone market that will feature a touch screen foldable to the world soon.

WinFuture and 9to5 Google both reported that rumors are claiming that Google is gearing up for the release of the Pixel Fold device, the first foldable from the company. It will also be the first foldable from Google's Pixel series, after delivering seven versions of the device with a standard, flat surface for its screen.

The rumors also claim that Google may introduce the Pixel Fold this May, as part of the I/O event which is held annually by the company.

Nevertheless, both these timelines include the arrival of Google's first foldable device under the Pixel series, to bring a larger screen and expansive display which users may stow if not needed.

What to Expect from the Pixel Fold?

WinFuture claimed that Google will power the Pixel Fold with the Tensor G2 chip, its latest SoC available, with a base storage option of 256 GB built-in. The Pixel Fold will arrive in a "carbon" color which is a mix of either black or grey, along with "porcelain" color options.

It is yet unknown how much Google will offer the Pixel Fold to the public, and foldable go up to the range of $1,500 to $1,800, similar to the Z Fold 4's price.

Google's Foldable Development

Google is famous for its Pixel lineup which the company developed to bring the new face of Android to the world, one that is delivering its native run and features directly to users. It is only natural for the Pixel to be the first among the rest for Android features and updates, considering as both are under the internet company's leadership.

There were many leaks from Google insiders claiming that a Pixel Fold device is coming, and initial talks about it center on a better performance among its competitors in the market. There was a benchmark test that claimed that the Pixel Fold is significantly faster compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, but there is no way of verifying this as the device is not yet widely available or launched.

With the success of the Pixel lineup in the market, and most Android developers are already looking to deliver new foldable to increase displays, Google is rumored to be gearing up to bring a tech of its own. Now, the Pixel Fold is allegedly nearing its release date for the world to see, in less than three months before it shows itself to everyone.
