A new game streaming service is soon coming from Google, and according to reports, the company is channeling this development on YouTube this time around. The new service is allegedly called "Playable," and it would be available via YouTube, and not a standalone platform like what the company debuted before with Stadia.

Google only shut down the Stadia cloud gaming platform earlier this year, but it seems like it is not yet done with bringing its game streaming platform to the world.

The Wall Street Journal revealed in the past few days that Google is testing a new game streaming platform that will center on delivering a new experience for gamers. This experimental platform is regarded as YouTube Playable, featuring a different form of entertainment that could be played and shared among those on the streaming platform.

It was revealed that Google wants more for YouTube, and gaming has been a massive focus on the video streaming platform. With this initiative, it will evolve into a more interactive one, centering on multimedia content that will evolve from what YouTube has to offer now.

According to CNET, YouTube spokesperson Alex McQuinston regarded that "Gaming has been a long focus at YouTube," further citing that the platform is always experimenting with something new.

Google is Back at it Again on Game Streaming Services

The spokesperson's statement neither confirms or denies this initiative. Seemingly, it is still at an early stage as there are no further details yet.

It is unknown if Google would use Stadia's old files or codes for this, or create an entirely new one for this experience. Moreover, Google is not rushing to bring this new product immediately, with no details yet on its availability.

Google Stadia and its Downfall

Google brought the famed game streaming service, Stadia, to the world back in late 2019, and the company first included 22 games upon launch. The company was among the pioneers of cloud-based gaming platforms in the world, with many rivals including massive services like Microsoft's Xbox, Sony's PlayStation, and more.

One of the best things about Google's Stadia is that it allows gamers to access many titles from different devices, including PC, tablets, and smartphones. There were also several partnerships and tie-ups with smartphone releases, including the ASUS ROG III phone which featured Stadia support and brought its many titles to the mobile.

However, the company announced that the game-streaming cloud-based platform's shutdown come 2023, and this is more just around more than three years since it became available. With the latest report, this may mean that this is not the last we see of Google's efforts to deliver a gaming platform, with YouTube Playable, which is growing to be some kind of a copy of Netflix Games.
