Xbox announced the upcoming Xbox Official Podcast's episode drop that would feature the Xbox CEO Phil Spencer as its guest, one that is expected to bring answers to the world gamers' nagging questions. This centers on the rumors behind Xbox's plans to move away from the hardware console business and solely focus on being a game-distributing service.

More particularly, with the massive Xbox-only titles that are soon coming to other consoles and platforms, despite them being competitors of the Microsoft console.

This move by Xbox centers on offering renowned exclusive titles for all, especially with its massive promises for its top franchises, including the acquired games like Call of Duty, Fallout, Starfield, Indiana Jones, and more.

The Future of Xbox's Console Business: Soon Ending?

Rumors were wild on their claims that Microsoft is finally exiting the console business with Xbox, but not necessarily trashing the brand as it will offer significant game distribution for all platforms. However, this centers on the end of an era for Microsoft, especially with its more than two-decade-old console developments, one that would end with the Xbox Series S and X.

For now, it is yet unknown what the future will be, with Xbox's Phil Spencer soon addressing these talks.

Microsoft Gaming, Xbox, Activision Blizzard

Microsoft worked hard and faced the challenges over the years, with the company also paying top dollar for its acquisition of Activision Blizzard to establish its gaming empire across the industry. It is important to note that the latest investor earnings report of the company shared its massive growth of as much as 49 percent because of Activision Blizzard's merger alone.

However, Xbox's business remained stagnant in its numbers.

That being said, the acquisition is set to bring improvements in the future, and from a public standpoint, more games are coming to Xbox's experiences that are complemented by their ownership of Activision Blizzard King.

There is also the famed acquisition of Microsoft on Bethesda Softworks, offering the Fallout franchise, The Elder Scrolls franchise, and more.

The globally iconic Xbox platform has brought significant gaming experiences to the world throughout the years, rivaling Sony's PlayStation since the start of the 2000s decade. However, rumors claim that it will soon throw in the towel for the hardware and move on to being a multiplatform entity, one that would center on games and experiences, which Phil Spencer would either confirm or deny this Thursday.
