Apple Watch, AirPods Health Features Expand to More Regions

According to Apple's senior vice president of marketing, Greg Joswiak (via X), the Apple Watch and AirPods' health features have now been made available to more countries worldwide.

The first one is the Hearing Aid feature that was debuted by Apple in 2024 via iOS 18, which made use of the wireless headsets for better sound. This feature is now expanding to Italy, which will allow users who own the AirPods Pro 2 and/or the AirPods Pro 3 to use their audio wearables as a clinic-grade hearing aid.

On the other hand, Apple's executive also said that Taiwan is getting the Hypertension notifications on eligible Apple Watch devices, so that it may track a person's blood pressure to offer warnings and contact emergency services during a critical time.

Lastly, Joswiak said that two health features are also made available to India, with both devices getting new features. For the Apple Watch, Indian users are getting Sleep apnea notifications, and for the AirPods, the Hearing Test feature.

What to Expect From Apple Watch, AirPods

There are specific requirements for the features to work on the Apple Watch and AirPods devices, as these features were introduced fairly recently and require specific hardware to work.

For both the Hearing Aid and Hearing Test that were made available to Italy and India, respectively, users need to own at least the AirPods Pro 2 or the AirPods Pro 3 to access the said features.

For the Sleep apnea notifications and Hypertension notifications for India and Taiwan, respectively, users need to own at least the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, or later models.
