Bobby Brown is a man who loves his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, very much. Is this love, however, blinding him from the truth of her situation? A psychiatry expert seems to think so.

Brown lost the first love of his life, Whitney Houston, in a similar way that Bobbi Kristina had fallen into a coma. One can understand why Brown is so adamant about keeping his daughter alive because she is his only child with Whitney, so he might want to keep that connection going.

Still, it is possible Bobbi Kristina might never come out of this ordeal without serious brain injury, and this is why some are saying he should let go and move on before it is too late.

"At this point, he's clearly in denial about what's going on," Lawrence Genen, a psychiatrist and diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, said. "Obviously she is still alive there, but what degree is she really [alive]? And the longer you remain ambiguous, it really does delay the natural grieving process."

Recent reports claim Bobbi Kristina suffers from irreversible brain damage, although it is not certain how bad it is. She has been in a medically induced coma for the past three months. Since she was found face down in a bathtub, should she arise from her slumber, Bobbi Kristina might not be able to return to a good state of mind.

So, what is Genen's advice for Brown?

"I would really, really want to encourage people to remember the person for who they were, because who they look like right now, it's a world apart from who they remember their loved ones being. And I would really encourage them to consider: what would they want for themselves if they were in the situation?"

We agree with the statement. Would Bobbi Kristina want to live a life as a vegetable, or would she rather be gone from this world? Another thing, if Brown were in the same position, would he want to live such a life? We can't imagine he would because the person he was would be completely gone, replaced by a mere shadow of his former self.
