Ubisoft announced on Tuesday a new installment in the Rayman franchise. While gamers will soon be able to get their hands on a new game, they can only play on their smartphones and tablets. On the bright side, the new game will mirror the console version instead of being another endless runner option.

Titled Rayman Adventures, the game will join the previous mobile games Rayman Jungle Run and Rayman Fiesta Run. Even though this new installment is just for smartphones and tablets, it closely resembles the console version by featuring the ability to freely move around. Gamers can jump into action with the ability to explore the level and its hidden paths.

"Powered by UbiArt Framework, Rayman Adventures represents a major step in bringing players an HD console-quality experience on mobile..." Ubisoft wrote in a press release.

The graphics move at 60 frames per second, and the engine includes new dynamic particle effects that react when the players move through them, which smoothly bring the world to life with crisp and compelling visuals, as compared with the previous mobile titles.

Rayman Adventures stars Rayman and his viking buddy Barbara as they embark on a journey to save the enchanted forest, rescuing new characters called "Incrediballs" along the way. The fluffy little Incrediballs follow Rayman and Barbara on their adventure, which allows the main characters to unleash their powers to save the world.

Players must care for the Incrediballs, feeding and playing with them, and they can also make music with the adorable pets.

The more Incrediballs collected, the faster the player's tree grows. Gamers can compete with others to see who can grow the tallest tree, with the help of rare Incrediballs.

"Rayman Adventures bring players on an odyssey where they will explore legendary worlds, from whimsical castles to the mythical islands of Olympus," Ubisoft said. "They will enjoy an exciting mix of action and exploration in which they will be able to freely move around as they like through stunning environments."

Even though Ubisoft did not announce a sequel to the console game Rayman Legends at its press conference at E3 2015, the new mobile game could be a precursor to a future console installment.

While the previous Rayman mobile games where pay-to-play, it is not yet known whether or not Rayman Adventures will be a freemium game.

Rahman Adventures will launch for iOS in the fall of 2015.
