We've been hearing a lot of talks in the past about superhero movie fatigue, but is this something fans should be worried about? Henry Cavill chose to give his two cents on the matter.

Since the success of Marvel, the talks of superhero fatigue have become a popular subject without end. Now that Warner Bros. is getting involved with the DC Extended Universe, detractors have gotten even louder.

Lately, an interviewer asked Henry Cavill to give his thoughts on the matter of superhero movies being too much, and the possibility of fatigue. Obviously, the actor denounced such words with the following:

"I think it's anything which is prevalent and on top people are going to complain about," Cavill told the foreign entertainment site Juado. "At the moment, the superhero genre is the most prevalent genre out there, despite the fact that the spy genre is so strong this year. That's just the nature of it. It's one of those decade long genres, the superhero thing, which is going to keep on going, and people will complain about it all the time, of course."

We have to agree with Cavill, but it is not impossible for moviegoers to have superhero fatigue. That is why the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) needs to differentiate itself from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and anything that comes from 20th Century Fox. Furthermore, some movies in the universe must feel entirely different. For example, Captain America: The Winter Solider, felt completely different from other films in the MCU, and that turned out to be a great move.

Films like The Flash and Shazam all have the ability to show the diversity of the DCEU, and it also boils down to whether or not if these movies turn out to be a success at the box office.

As it stands right now, we should not worry about superhero fatigue, but in the future, the genre might have to take a backseat because the video game based movies are coming. We have yet to see a hugely successful video game based film, but with the likes of World of Warcraft in development, and the likes of Uncharted and Borderlands on the horizon, things could change quickly overnight.
