Humble Bundle has come a long way from its initial purpose of offering affordable indie titles to gamers everywhere. The new direction in Humble Bundle's business means that the digital distribution platform is picking a secret mix of games each month and sending them to subscribers for only $12.

Humble Bundle, formerly known as Humble Indie Bundle, had an innovative way of charming the hearts of players. In the beginning, it allowed users to pay their own price for some games. The portfolio now includes other products, ranging from commercial titles to mobile games, comics and electronic books. To become a veritable digital distribution platform, Humble Bundle had to reconsider its selling strategy.

Now, the standard monthly subscription gets a touch of mystery. What this implies is that for the monthly contribution of $12, subscribers will get a number of games but won't know anything about them until the day they receive the pack. Humble Bundle aims to emulate the pleasant anticipation that comes with loot bags, and translate it into virtual excitement. The real news is that the monthly subscription does not permit users to opt out.

On every first Friday of the month, at 11:00 a.m. (PST), gamers will receive the bundles. This is important because, if you register past that date, you lose the content of a month's worth of games. The company stated that there is zero possibility to buy previous bundles, so timing is essential. This applies to the "unsubscribe" option as well.

"Subscribers can expect each month's featured titles to not only be on par with the type of premium content that Humble Bundle is known for, but with even more added value," Humble said.

"A highly curated bundle of our favorite games at one fixed price, includes everything from recent hits to hidden gems to timeless classics," the company promised.

Humble Bundle, however, only caters to PC players' needs via Steam, which leaves Android and Mac users dismayed.

Humble Bundle will still send a slice of the $12 per month to charity, but fans of the platform will notice a change. Different bundles allowed gamers to decide how the money was shared, or proposed a fixed rate of 10 percent. Humble Monthly is a more business-oriented offer.
