Several customers of the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar complain of battery drain issues on their device.

Apple launched the fourth-generation MacBook Pro on Oct. 27 this year. Apple claims that the new MacBook Pro is the lightest and the thinnest ever. However, there is more to the latest Apple offering. The new MacBook Pro is different as Apple has replaced the function keys with an interactive Touch Bar and a Touch ID sensor in the power button.

"The Touch Bar places controls right at the user's fingertips and adapts when using the system or apps like Mail, Finder, Calendar, Numbers, GarageBand, Final Cut Pro X and many more, including third-party apps. For example, the Touch Bar can show Tabs and Favorites in Safari, enable easy access to emoji in Messages, provide a simple way to edit images or scrub through videos in Photos and so much more," says Apple.

Battery Issues With MacBook Pro With Touch Bar

Although the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar has attracted many customers, the novel feature is also said to be causing battery issues with the laptop. Apple support community and social media sites are ablaze with customer complaints regarding battery drain issues with the new MacBook Pro.

"I just received my new 15" MacBook Pro with touch bar. The battery life is horrible!!! I have Safari open with 6 tabs and with 95% battery, I am told that I have under 3 hours of battery life left! I thought these things were supposed to get 10 hours? I ran the battery down in 3 hours last night only browsing the web. I wasn't watching videos, just browsing," complained a MacBook Pro user.

Is The Battery Drain Issue Hardware- Or Software-Related?

It is not clear if the battery drain issue with the new MacBook Pro is software or hardware-related. However, some observers believe that the issue is arising due to a problem with the Radeon graphics chip.

Apple is said to be working on a fix to address the battery drain issue. However, the company has not revealed the reason for the error, or an estimated fix release date for the problem.

The issue seems to have disappointed new owners as some of them have opted for a full refund or exchange for returning the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.

It is likely that Apple will release a statement sooner than later to confirm the battery issue and probably release a fix as well.
