God of War's PlayStation 4 patch 1.20 is now live, bringing a host of minor UI tweaks and the awaited Photo Mode.

God Of War Update Now Allows Screenshots

Sony Santa Monica first revealed the feature in April, a couple of days after the game's official launch. With the latest update, players can now capture and edit screenshots of the game.

"With Photo Mode, players will be able to unleash their creativity and experience the world, its fast paced combat, the beautifully crafted environments and its deadly characters like never before," says Sony in its blog post.

"With player choice being such a central theme to many of the decisions we made on God of War, we sought to deliver a Photo Mode with lots of options and we're excited to put it in your hands!"

This comes as exciting news considering that most players have praised God of War as, overall, a stunning game. The intense level of detail, from the world to its inhabitants, should make for gorgeous screenshots.

The update prompt will appear when players fire up God of War on a PlayStation 4 that is connected to the internet. Once installed, Photo Mode can be accessed via the Options Menu or by enabling the TouchPad Quick Access in the settings.

Features Of 'God Of War' Photo Mode

The God of War Photo Mode uses the right and left thumbsticks to move the camera around. To pan up or down, players can use the R2 and L2 buttons, respectively. It also features five tabs containing all the customization options.

For example, players can adjust the focal length in the Camera menu and adjust the depth of field in the Aperture menu. The Filters menu provides filter options, while the vignette and other border styles, including the God of War logo, can be found on the Borders menu.

The Characters menu gives the players the ability to change the visibility of the characters on screen, so you can highlight some characters and hide the others. The most interesting part, however, is that players can change the facial expressions of Kratos and his son Atreus.

Other Inclusions Of 'God Of War' Update 1.20

God of War's previous update added a visibility slider that changes the text size on the menu, UI, and the map. Update 1.20 follows up on that by making the text bigger; this move makes the user experience better compared to the previous solution.

Sony Santa Monica also adds an accessibility setting, allowing players to re-map Rage Mode that activates by pressing the right and left thumbsticks by default.

God of War, the fourth installment in the series, is now available for PlayStation 4.
