DJI has just launched their smallest and lightest drone, the Mini 3 Pro, which features a new design, larger image sensor, 4K60 video, obstacle avoidance sensors, large aperture, and an option for a bigger battery. This will also be the first in DJI's series to have the "Pro" moniker.

All About the Basics

It is worth noting that the Mini 3 Pro still weighs less than 250 grams, which will be beneficial for drone users since they won't need to register it with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) if it weighs heavier. The Mini 3 Pro could weigh heavier depending on the battery you choose.

This drone will also feature a throwback from the original Mavic Pro, which has the ability to rotate the Mini 3 Pro's gimbal 90 degrees, suitable for vertical videos and photos. Snap has also launched its own drone, but it does not have this feature.

Mini 3 Pro has a new and larger 1/1.3-inch sensor compared to the Mini 2's 1/2.3-inch sensor. It can record a video at 4K up to 60fps and HDR at 4K up to 30fps. In comparison with its predecessor, Mini 3 can shoot in a flat color profile to enable videographers several coloring options for post-production.

Furthermore, it also has the ability to capture photos up to 48MP, with a new camera that has an f/1.7 aperture, perfect for videographers who prefer low-light drone photography and videography.

Meanwhile, its obstacle avoidance sensors will equip more autonomous flight modes for the drone - such as Spotlight 2.0, which retains the subject in the frame while focusing on the flight; the Point Interest 3.0 that can orbit people or buildings at a predetermined radius speed; and lastly, the ActiveTrack 4.0 which autonomously follows the subject whether it is coming from behind or flying parallel to the side.

Mini 3 Pro will also include intelligent flight modes,  such as MasterShots, which is already existing in the DJI Air 2S and enables your drone to generate a short edit based on predetermined flights.

But most importantly, it will feature two battery options this year. The standard battery guarantees a maximum flight time of 34 minutes, which is a tiny increase from Mini 2's 31 minutes. The new battery is called "Intelligent Flight Battery Plus," which can fly for 47 minutes and weighs heavier than the standard battery.

How and Where to Order?

The Mini 3 Pro can be pre-ordered starting today, and you will have many bundles to choose from. It is highly suggested that if you already have existing equipment from the Mini 2, such as the compatible remote controller RC-N1, you just need to buy the new drone for $669.

If, however, you want a new screen-equipped DJI controller, the price will increase to $909.

It is also worth noting that DJI has not yet confirmed the exact shipping date for various locations. The only specific date given is that North America can expect the Mini 3 Pro to ship this summer.

They also have the Fly More Kit bundle, which costs $189. It has two extra Intelligent Flight batteries, two sets of propellers, and a charging hub. The Fly More Kit Plus bundle, on the other hand, will also include the aforementioned products except for the standard battery because it will be including the larger 47-minute batteries for $249.
