Just Cause 3 is Avalanche Studios' third installment of the Just Cause series, which offers more destructive gaming opportunities than the earlier Just Cause 2.

Players are taken to the fictional island of Medici where they blow up a number of powerful explosives to save the island from the dictatorship of Di Ravello.

The game features protagonist Rico Rodriguez who arms himself with a parachute, grappling hook and endless supply of dangerous explosives. Through his character, players can glide away in a parachute; blow up a guard tower; attack with a number of ammunitions on hand while being up in the air; plant bombs on trucks that are crossing a bridge and do a whole lot more.

"Just Cause 3 is one of our most anticipated titles and we're excited to build on everything the community loved about Just Cause 2," said Square Enix CEO Phil Rogers. "With a beautiful 400 square-mile sandbox, Just Cause 3 will offer players almost endless hours of creativity, destruction and awe-inspiring stunts this December 1."

Apart from the game protagonist's enhanced parachute features with an added wingsuit for gliding purposes, players can also enjoy an upgrade in the game's lineup of vehicles. These include tractors, monster trucks and even lavish sports cars.

There are also helicopters and planes that are used by the game protagonist, who was incidentally seen on the game's launching video riding a sports car, which had been dropped in the air. Images have been so vivid that one would perhaps wonder if Rico were "immortal."

Players also have the chance to claim high-score bragging rights as they go through the game's races, scrapyard scrambles, classic gun ranges, wingsuit courses, and bombing and destruction frenzies.

"Unlock new mods that upgrade Rico's explosive capabilities and vehicles, giving players endless ways to cause epic action, destruction and chaos, across 400 square miles of beautiful Mediterranean paradise. Just Cause 3 revolutionizes the open-world genre one massive explosion at a time," the game's teaser video stated.

Launching globally on Dec. 1 this year, Just Cause 3 is scheduled to arrive in Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
