Samsung plans to go big with the Galaxy Note 9 and hints at several huge upgrades to its components such as batteries, storage, and more.

A Worthwhile Upgrade

The South Korean company wants to outdo its previous offerings with the upcoming phablet. A collection of data from several sources notes the poor sales of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ to date from its release a couple of months back. Market analysts note that consumers who already own the S8 or S8+ did not consider it as a worthwhile upgrade.

This time around, it seems that the consumer electronics manufacturer desires to give its buyers more reasons to invest in the forthcoming flagship. Industry insiders suggest that its display will increase to 6.4 inches from the 6.3 inches of the Galaxy Note 8. If expectations hold true, this implies that the bezels were reduced a little further.

Going Big Where It Matters

While the Galaxy Note 9 is still in development, its hardware continues to attract the attention of enthusiasts in the industry. In fact, everything remains a rumor until Samsung makes a formal announcement of what to expect from the new handset.

Ice Universe, a familiar source of information related to the South Korean brand, claims the new phablet will sport a larger battery capacity. According to the insider, a battery capacity of at least 4,000 mAh might be on the way for the new model. If proven true, it will be the first smartphone in the product lineup to go beyond the 3,000 mAh range.

Another component of the device rumored to receive an upgrade is its internal memory. It appears a 512 GB variant is likewise in the works.

Moreover, a bigger battery means that Adaptive Fast Charging will be an important feature. It only makes sense for the engineers to also upgrade its wireless charging capabilities.

A new wireless charger with the model number EP-N6100 recently paid a visit to the FCC. The regulatory agency reveals its capability to wirelessly deliver 12 volts at 2.1 amperes, which makes it more powerful than the current model.

Other Related Leaks

Compared to its previous flagship devices, it looks like Samsung continues to keep important details about the Galaxy Note 9 away from the public. Nevertheless, other than the higher battery capacity, one of the latest leaks shared by Ice Universe reveal something new about the device.

A protective case allegedly designed for the phablet shows the fifth button. Users speculate that it could be a dedicated camera shutter button or something else entirely. The latest information about its possible launch date suggests it will take place sometime in August.
